Guitar 5 completed.

I still have some minor adjustments to do and the guitar need to settle in a bit. There is a bit of a metallic sound to the third string, not sure of the cause yet, it might be caused by the saddle. Outside of that it sounds nice and plays well with a reasonably good action, the action will come down a bit more yet.

For now I am just going to keep playing and tuning it while it settles down. I need to polish it up as well.

Headstock.

I have completed the headstock, it didn’t go error free and I am not going to point out the errors. A good number of expletives were used. Other than the initial drill holes everything else is carved by hand. So without further ado here are a couple of pictures.

It consists of a maple neck with a 2.5mm walnut veneer (the back and sides are walnut) topped off with a 1mm tulip wood veneer. The tulip wood has a slight hint of green to it. I think the high contrast grain really sets it off.
That is all for now.

More neck.

I have rough carved the neck down to size now and started on the headstock. If I am lucky I could have the neck fitted sometime tomorrow, just see how it goes, I am not in any sort of a hurry.
I have a picture in my head of how the headstock needs to look and I am still on course for that.
So here is a pic of where I am up to.

The fret board is just laid on the neck for effect.
That is all for now.
