Classical Finished.

Okay the classical guitar is finished, there will be more setting up to do after it has been played for a while. I do intend adding an audio file here so you can hear what it sounds like, just haven’t had the time to do the recording yet.

Any how, here it is…

The Penny Guitars decal is written with my pyro pen on the wood that was cut out for the sound hole. I just thought it was a nice touch to use the sound hole wood for something. It is backed with cotton to make it resist breaking.

The guitar came out pretty good, bearing in mind it is a jumbo sized classical guitar, the upper bout is almost as big as the lower bout. The action is as good as any standard steel string guitar. I wanted this guitar to stand out from the crowd and be rather unique and I think I have achieved that. notice that headstock is immediately after the nut, normally there would be at least half an inch before the machine heads and slots. This doesn’t impede in any way and it is still possible to fret the 6th string with the thumb at the first fret. Note the very unusual inlay on the fret board, this was the customers decision and I thought it would all wrong, it actually looks pretty damn cool.

I have never as much as ever held a classical guitar before so how it compares to standard classical guitars is not known. I will post comments from the owner if any are passed back to me.
