I have removed as much as I think I can get away with on the neck. The neck width is 48.5mm wide and I can get to the sixth string with my thumb, I like to be able to use my thumb on some chords so it was important to trim the neck back as much as possible.
My style of playing the classical guitar requires me to need a scratch plate, well in fact three scratch plates.
I have taken the action down considerably and it is nice and easy to play. The error I made when fitting the fret board doesn’t seem to have caused any problems at all. There is no buzzing at any position on the fret board so I have not surfaced the frets with my stone as I usually would. It just plays well and sound nice. Here are a couple of pics.
I am playing it lots while it settles down and will put a sound file up for it as soon as I get the time to do that.
